Texas Lawyer invited the 25 firms with the largest operations in the state to participate in the 2013 Summer Associate Hiring Survey. The size and mix of summer associate classes at large firms is an indicator of the firms’ growth expectations for the next few years, since summer associates make up the candidate pool for the firms’ future full-time jobs.

The 2013 2L summer associates (students who have completed two years of law school) are candidates for full-time jobs for the fall of 2014 and 1L summer associates (students who have completed one year of law school) will be candidates for the firms’ full-time jobs for the fall of 2015.
