Plaintiff recovers $19,000 for alleged shoulder, back, neck injuries

On May 13, a jury awarded $19,000 to a man who claimed neck, lower back and shoulder sprains and strains in a collision. Ramior C. Leal was driving a pickup truck on Scyene Road in Mesquite. Alvin R. Martin II, driving a compact crossover sport utility vehicle, pulled out from a driveway and hit Leal's right side. Martin stipulated to liability. The plaintiff went to a chiropractic and physical therapy clinic three days after the accident and was treated there for over two months. His past medical bills were $16,875.54.
