Jury sides with school monitor fired after accidentally urinating on bus
A school bus monitor who was fired after he urinated on a bus was awarded $166,292 Nov. 13, 2013. Paul Green, who was taking medication for a heart condition that can cause incontinence, had to urinate suddenly while on the empty school bus, and the driver allegedly refused to stop. He urinated in his pants and then the driver pulled over so he could finish in a bottle. He cleaned himself with a towel and then the bus went to pick up a child in a wheelchair. Green assisted the child into the bus. The school fired him for failing to protect the health and safety of students. He sued Dallas County Schools for firing him due to his medical condition. His award consisted of $41,292 for past lost earnings and $125,000 for past mental anguish.
