In 2003, Texas Lawyer published two articles from contributors who said same-sex marriage won’t happen in the state “any time soon.”

While Texas isn’t close to issuing same-sex marriage licenses, a ruling by U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia Wednesday that enjoins Texas from enforcing a state ban on same-sex marriages might lead to a resolution of the issue—either way—sooner rather than later.
