Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law assistant professor Sarah Tran, who continued teaching via Skype from her hospital bed while receiving treatment for leukemia in the fall of 2012, died on Feb. 28. She was 34. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on March 15 at Highland Park Methodist Church in Dallas. A potluck lunch will follow the service.

“She successfully left a legacy on how to fight cancer, how to fight adversity, how to smile even facing death,” said SMU Dedman assistant law professor Cheryl Butler, a colleague and friend. “She did all those things for us.”
