A special prosecutor says he’s still investigating a complaint against Rick Perry regarding the governor’s 2013 veto of about $3.7 million per year in funding for the Travis County District Attorney’s Public Integrity Unit. Although the grand jury that is supposed to hear the matter will expire on March 28, the special prosecutor said he would eventually ask for another grand jury.

“We’re continuing to interview people for various reasons. … Additional time is needed for further investigation. I do anticipate presenting matters to the grand jury,” explained Attorney Pro Tem Michael McCrum. He was appointed as a special prosecutor because Travis County D.A. Rosemary Lehmberg recused herself from the case.
