Tim Goss’ client won a $1.2 million judgment on April 3 in a product liability case against Johnson & Johnson Inc. and Ethicon Inc. His client based her claims on allegations related to the corporate defendants’ pelvic mesh product, used in surgery on women who suffer from urinary incontinence.

Although he served as lead counsel for the plaintiff, Goss didn’t win the case by wowing the jury. Instead, Goss, a partner in Freese & Goss in Dallas, said he persuaded 95th District Judge Ken Molberg not to admit evidence that would confuse the jury.
