Well-known criminal defense lawyer David Botsford is representing Gov. Rick Perry in an investigation into allegations that the governor committed crimes last summer when he vetoed funding for the Travis County District Attorney’s Public Integrity Unit.

The judge overseeing the complaint impaneled a grand jury on April 14 that will hear about a special prosecutor’s investigation and determine whether to indict Perry, whose veto came in the wake of Travis County D.A. Rosemary Lehmberg’s April 2013 drunken-driving conviction.
