The West Independent School District filed a lawsuit May 20 against Argonaut Insurance Co., Trident Insurance Co. and the Texas Association of Public Educators (TAPE), a nonprofit.

In its petition filed in McLennan County, the school district alleges that the insurers, Argonaut and Trident, have failed to pay for damages to West ISD’s campuses that happened as a result of a April 17, 2013, blast at a fertilizer plant. The two insurers also have failed to explain their reasons for that failure to pay, the petition alleges.
