The parents of a Houston boy who died in an apartment fire in 2012 filed a $1 million legal malpractice lawsuit against their former lawyer and his firm, alleging that the defendants, among many things, failed to file timely documents in a negligence suit that the plaintiffs had filed over their son’s death and failed to keep them informed.

As a result, plaintiffs DeShawn Cade and Dominique McClain allege in the petition they filed against Taft Foley II and The Foley Law Firm of Houston, a judge signed a judgment against them in the underlying suit.
