The Houston office of Greenberg Traurig has hired James Leahy, the chairman of Locke Lord’s energy litigation group. Leahy will serve in a similar role at his new firm.

Mary-Olga Lovett, a coregional operating shareholder for Greenberg Traurig in Texas, described Leahy as a “legend.” She said that Leahy hired her decades ago when she was a freshly minted law school graduate to work at a firm Leahy had started before moving to Locke Lord. In the 1990s, Leahy also hired another baby lawyer, Douglas Atnipp, who’s now Lovett’s coregional operating shareholder at Greenberg Traurig.
