Rachel Powitzky Steely’s job at Gardere is much like a firefighter’s: When an employment law client has an emergency, she handles it right then.
“I like her because she’s very client-centric. Nothing happens in our world until Friday,” said Geoff Bracken, a Gardere partner who co-chair’s his firm’s litigation department and works closely with Steely. “They’ll say: ‘Hey, the head of our IP department is leaving today. What do we do?”
