Brandy Manning, a partner in Burleson’s Midland office, practices oil and gas law, and she typically represents clients in appeals. But Manning stepped out of her comfort zone to represent a foster mom in a cross-border child custody case heard by the Texas Supreme Court in 2013.
Manning said she became involved with In Re Melissa Blevins to find a lawyer to help the foster mother prevent her two young foster children, both born in the United States, from being sent to live with their father in Mexico.
