Raising a family and practicing law are not mutually exclusive. Certainly, doing both takes time, attention and hard work, but each one can strengthen the other.
Case in point: Our own families, where our four boys have been close since they were playing sports together at 3 years old, and where they’ve learned—by watching Mom—that having a mother who works can be a good thing. Our sons graduated from high school this year and now are among the ranks of undergraduate freshmen at top universities. They are the best of friends. They have celebrated together, failed together, conspired together and experienced life together.
