Alleging that he suffered injuries during an assault that impaired his ability to practice trial law, Houston lawyer Walter Cubberly filed a civil suit seeking more than $1 million from two men he alleges “attacked and viciously beat” him outside his house.

Cubberly, 33, who does civil and criminal work at Stradley, Davis & Reynal, brings assault, trespass and negligent failure to aid or protect causes of action against Walter P. “Trip” Zivley III of Houston and Daniel C. Feiler of Bellaire in the lawsuit he filed on Sept. 11 in the 152nd District Court in Harris County.
