The Bexar County Criminal District Attorney’s Office has won an appeal that will bring the next step in a contempt proceeding against criminal defense lawyer Michael McCrum, who also serves as the special prosecutor in Gov. Rick Perry’s felony case. The contempt proceeding stems from an unrelated matter.

In sort of an appellate pingpong game, the Court of Criminal Appeals on Sept. 17 granted conditional mandamus relief to the D.A.’s office, ordering San Antonio’s Fourth Court of Appeals to vacate a previous mandamus order.
