An elderly woman had $83,000 in cash hidden throughout her home, and her niece gave the money to an Austin lawyer to create a trust on the aunt’s behalf. Instead, he used more than $37,500 of the cash to pay his own attorney fees, alleges a recent lawsuit by the Commission for Lawyer Discipline. The niece filed a grievance against the lawyer, Bruce Lipshy, in December 2013.

But Lipshy denied all of the allegations on Sept. 29 and asked that the CFLD take nothing and that he recover his own costs.
