A judge in Austin has ruled that there is not good cause to force a state agency to release documents related to its investigation into Sen. Ken Paxton, the Republican candidate for Texas attorney general.

In May, the Texas State Securities Board disciplined Paxton, who acknowledged “that he acted as an investment-adviser representative without registering with TSSB,” said the original petition in Gammill v. Morgan.
