A man who opened fire at a Florida State University library early Thursday morning before being killed by police has been identified by a law enforcement official as Myron De'Shawn May, a lawyer who graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2009 after earning an undergraduate degree from FSU, according to the Associated Press.

Chris Cook, managing director of TTU's Office of Communications and Marketing, confirmed that May attended the law school from 2006 to 2009. A Facebook profile associated with May says he is "in-house counsel" at Taunton Family Children's Home, though the woman who runs the organization told police May was staying in a guest house that she owns.
