Faced with evidence that prosecutors detained a witness before she made a statement, a judge on Nov. 17 rejected the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney Office's attempt to score a criminal contempt-of-court finding against San Antonio lawyer Michael McCrum.

"It removes a huge cloud that had been hanging over me," said McCrum, owner of the McCrum Law Office in San Antonio, who is also special prosecutor in Gov. Rick Perry's felony case. The contempt proceeding isn't related.
