As Ken Paxton assembles a team to help him transition into leading the 725 government lawyers in the Texas Office of Attorney General, the A.G.-elect also faces a civil lawsuit by a losing A.G. candidate.

Paxton announced on Nov. 18 that Chip Roy, the chief of staff for U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, would become the first assistant A.G. once Paxton is sworn into office in January.
