Vinson & Elkins represents Woodside Petroleum in its pending purchase of Houston-based Apache Corp.’s interest in two LNG projects for $2.75 billion.Apache turned to Clifford Chance.

On Dec. 15, Apache announced that it agreed to sell its interest in the projects, Wheatstone LNG and Kitimat LNG, along with related upstream oil and gas reserves, to Woodside Petroleum, of Perth, Australia. Apache will also be reimbursed for its net expenditure in the projects between June 30, 2014, and the date of closing at an estimated $1 billion.
