Susan Halsey, a real estate lawyer who was one of the first women to be hired by Jackson Walker and helped open their Fort Worth office in 1988, died of cancer on Dec. 19.

Halsey, who was a player in the Fort Worth’s business community and whose client list included Crescent Real Estate Equities and Chesapeake Energy, was the rare woman lawyer in North Texas when she was first hired by the firm in 1983.
