A key government witness in federal criminal cases against an ex-judge and a lawyer was shot to death in a double homicide in San Antonio.

Brown & Norton partner Jay Norton of San Antonio said that Michael Otten was a federal informant who first notified the government about allegations that led to charges against lawyer Alberto Acevedo Jr. and former 144th District Judge Angus McGinty.
