House Bill 820 would prevent an uninsured driver who had been in a car accident from recovering exemplary and noneconomic damages in a lawsuit for bodily injury, death or property damage. That bar on exemplary and noneconomic damages would also apply to the uninsured driver’s loved one who sued for wrongful death or loss of consortium or companionship.
