A Dallas man whose criminal case was tied to the computer hack of a geopolitical intelligence company was sentenced on Jan. 22 to federal prison and a large restitution payment.
U.S. District Judge Sam A. Lindsay sentenced Barrett Brown to serve five years and three months in federal prison and to pay $890,250 in restitution, according to a press release by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas.
