Paying for special prosecutors to handle Gov. Rick Perry’s criminal case has created a shortfall in an account handled by the Travis County criminal courts, which recently won approval from commissioners to spend another $200,000 in general funds.
Travis County commissioners on Jan. 27 unanimously approved moving $200,000 from the general fund allocated reserve to a criminal courts account that pays attorneys pro tem.
