The Texas House and Texas Senate have released preliminary budgets for 2016 and 2017 that would include slight funding cuts for the judiciary.
The House budget would appropriate $761.5 million to the judiciary for the biennium, a 0.3 percent decrease compared with the last budget. The Senate budget would give the judiciary $753.1 million, a 1.4 percent decrease.
