A legal battle pitting Daniel Hux, a former U.S. Marine and former Southern Methodist University student, against the University Park-based institution has led to a request for monetary sanctions against Hux’s lawyers.

Darrell Nogo, a partner in the Dallas office of Cantey Hanger, and Michael P. Kelly, a Dallas lawyer, represent Hux and have been named in a sanctions motion, which was filed by SMU and Richard Shafer, its police chief.
