The defendants have denied all of the allegations in a lawsuit that alleged that a former prosecutor was fired for refusing to withhold exculpatory evidence from a criminal defense lawyer.
“The DA’s office routinely instructs the assistant district attorneys to withhold evidence from criminal defense attorneys who represent criminal defendants—evidence which is favorable to the criminal defendants in their criminal cases,” alleged plaintiff Eric D. Hillman in Hillman v. Nueces County, filed in the 105th District Court.
