A Travis County district judge on Feb. 19 ordered the county clerk to stop relying upon unconstitutional Texas laws to refuse to issue a marriage license to a lesbian couple.

Just 15 minutes later, Austin women Sarah Goodfriend and Suzanne Bryant had obtained their marriage license and were legally married, said their attorney, Herring & Irwin partner Chuck Herring of Austin. Bryant is a family law solo in Austin.
