A judge has sanctioned an Austin lawyer in litigation against his home remodeler that is growing more and more contentious, swirling with allegations of destruction of key emails and text messages, forged affidavits and more.
Among other things, plaintiffs Tonya Nieto and her home remodeling company allege that her then-lawyer Adam Pugh—who also hired Nieto to remodel his home—breached his duties in defending Nieto in another case. While sitting in Nieto’s deposition, Pugh emailed another attorney for advice about how to sue her over his home remodel so that her general liability insurance coverage would apply, allege Nieto and her company.
