As Texas continues to deal with stubborn drought conditions, one of the biggest concerns related to fracking is the large consumption of freshwater used in drilling oil and gas wells.
“Two to five million gallons of water may be necessary to fracture one horizontal well in a shale formation,” according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s research.
