Houston lawyer Chip Lewis, who has represented Robert Durst in the years since he helped win a not guilty verdict for Durst on a murder charge in Galveston, said he told his wealthy, eccentric client to think twice before participating in a documentary focusing on the disappearance of Durst’s first wife, the murder of his close friend and the Galveston trial.
“I asked him to really think through the ramifications. A lot of people were unsatisfied with the verdict in Galveston. There were a lot of people that had contrasting agendas to him,” Lewis said he told Durst when his client said he was considering participating in on-camera interviews.
