Travis County paid a $270,000 settlement to a former prosecutor who sued District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg for allegedly terminating him in retaliation for statements he made to investigators. Lehmberg and the county denied the allegations.

Steve Brand received $90,000 in wages, $90,000 in nonwage compensation and $90,000 in attorney fees, said the settlement agreement and complete release, which Texas Lawyer received under the Texas Public Information Act.
