When a bank attempted to take Stacy Barzelis’ home—refusing to take the widow’s payments because the mortgage was in her husband’s name—she sued the lender for wrongful foreclosure, only to have her case thrown out of federal court.
But thanks to the work of Dallas lawyer Jack Peacock, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit recently revived part of the widow’s case, sending it back to a trial court for further hearings.
