Criminal e-filing is coming to a trial court near you this fall.

It’s been in the works for years, and now the state’s two high courts have set deadlines with the release of draft e-filing rules for criminal cases. E-filing has been mandatory in criminal appellate cases since late 2013, but under the draft rules, criminal e-filing will be voluntary in justice of the peace courts, county courts-at-law and district courts.
