In stark contrast to the robust mythical figure who is the company’s namesake, Hercules Offshore Inc. appears whipped down from dealing with the current protracted slump in the oil and gas industry.
The Houston-based energy company’s recent unsteady financial performance has led it to seek restructuring in order to help it meet the demands of today’s challenging global offshore drilling market. Hercules operates a fleet of 27 jackup rigs, including one rig under construction, and 24 liftboats. The company offers a range of services to oil and gas producers to meet their needs during drilling, well service, platform inspection, maintenance and decommissioning operations in several key shallow water provinces around the world.
