Lawyers will no longer have to pay the $200 attorney occupations tax each year. But their clients will soon pay more to e-file in most civil cases.
These changes and more come from new laws going into effect after earning approval from Gov. Greg Abbott. By the June 21 deadline for gubernatorial action, Abbott had signed 1,204 bills, allowed 162 bills to become law without his signature and vetoed 42 other proposals.
