In recent years, minority bar associations in Austin, Dallas and Houston have taken it upon themselves to ask large law firms about the number of LGBT lawyers in their ranks.
Fred Sultan, a gay attorney, said that a law firm’s clients are diverse, and that having diverse lawyers helps the firm to better advise clients.
