Apparently going green is a popular move with certain institutional investors hoping to reap large amounts of greenbacks from their green energy purchases. Exemplifying this trend, Talen Energy recently announced an agreement to sell Talen Renewable Energy for an undisclosed amount to funds managed by Energy Power Partners.

The sale will include 25 renewable energy projects in four states with a total of 65 megawatts of nameplate generating capacity, according to Talen Energy’s corporate communications director, George Lewis. The portfolio includes landfill gas-to-energy, solar, wind and cogeneration projects. Subject to regulatory approvals, the agreement is expected to close by the end of 2015.
