An Austin solo must pay $50,000, and his client owes $40,000, after a judge sanctioned them for misconduct in filing a lawsuit that challenged a city council election.

Election law attorney David A. Rogers and former city council candidate Laura Pressley are also liable together to pay nearly $7,800 in litigation expenses to Austin City councilman Greg Casar. They will owe more money if they appeal and lose again.
