“We broke tradition and then broke records,” said Jim Suydam, General Land Office spokesman, concerning the Texas agency’s recent launch of its innovative and lucrative online sale of oil and gas leases.
Placing the sale of Texas-owned oil and gas leases online rapidly turned into the largest state lease sale in the nation to be held on EnergyNet, according to Suydam. The new digital reboot of the way that the GLO manages the oil and gas lease sales recently succeeded in earning Texas public schools nearly $20 million.
