Three attorneys who were convicted of crimes might have their law licenses suspended as they are appealing their convictions. They’ll be disbarred if they lose on appeal.

The Commission for Lawyer Discipline filed three separate petitions for compulsory discipline against: Rodrigo Martinez Jr. of Edinburg, who was convicted of first-degree felony theft over $200,000; Susan Marie Sciacca of Houston, who was convicted of second-degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; and William Topp Maxwell of Philadelphia, who was convicted of 22 criminal charges related to his representation of mobsters.
