Even with today’s falling gasoline prices, the commercial development of technology focused on using alternative fuels in engines and vehicles is still picking up speed.
A case in point is Canadian-based Westport Innovations’ pending merger with Fuel Systems Solutions, which is headquartered in New York, to create a premier alternative fuel vehicle and engine company. Established in 1995, Westport has offices in Dallas and other locations worldwide. The company’s engineers have developed advanced high-performance, low-emission fuel system and vehicle technologies using gaseous fuels for transportation and industrial applications.
