A client alleges his former lawyer took advantage of him by trying to acquire his investment duplex while representing him against foreclosure. But the Austin lawyer counters that the ex-client agreed to sell the property to pay his attorney fees, but now he’s trying to take it back.

The two sides—client Ray McMackin and attorney Jeffrey Kelly—told their varying stories in separate lawsuits progressing through Travis County district court. Both sides have denied all of the allegations in the other party’s lawsuit.
