A Dallas judge has received a public warning from the State Commission on Judicial Conduct after she said a 14-year-old sexual assault victim “was not the victim she claimed to be” and sentenced her attacker to probation.

The disciplinary action against Dallas County Criminal District Court No. 6 Judge Jeanine Howard, which was released on Sept. 15, concerns a sexual assault case she heard last year in which she sentenced Sir Khalil Young. Young was 18 years old when he was accused of sexually assaulting the 14-year-old victim.
