They have yet to bid goodbye to their teen years. But Zaakir Tameez and Amy Fan have already filed an amicus brief pro se with the Texas Supreme Court. The two filed their brief this month in the school finance litigation Michael Williams, Commissioner of Education v. Calhoun County Independent School District, which is on appeal from Travis County.
The Texas Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the case on Sept. 1. The court is expected to rule on whether retired state district Judge John Dietz incorrectly denied Texas’ request to dismiss the plaintiffs’ constitutional claims about allegedly underfunded public schools.
