Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s indictment has prompted his recusal from some duties in his office. The last time a sitting attorney general was indicted, there were no recusals, but it definitely affected his work.

Paxton recused himself from handling cases similar to his felony case for three securities law violations, and any case involving one of his five criminal defense lawyers. He recused himself from matters involving the Texas State Securities Board or the Texas Ethics Commission.
