Judge Julie Kocurek of Austin was shot outside her home on Friday night in an assassination attempt. Police have not yet found the shooter.

Austin Police Department spokeswoman Lisa Cortinas wrote in an email that someone called police at 10:16 p.m. on Nov. 6 to report that Kocurek had been shot. An officer arrived at 10:21 p.m., and emergency medical services arrived just seven minutes later, transporting Kocurek to the hospital. At the time, Kocurek’s injuries were stable and non-life-threatening. The shooting occurred outside of Kocurek’s home.
